1. This Invitation for bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in development Business, issue No. 679 of 16 May 2006.
2.The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of Electricity Access Expansion project I, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for procurement of Distribution Overhead line accessories and pole top hard wares, tender no. EAREPI 4 Lot 1 & 2.
3.The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCo) now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the procurement of Distribution Overhead line accessories and pole top hard wares under two lots. The procurement includes the following major items such as 33kv U channel cross arms, 33kv pins, tie straps, ABC Suspension &
Dead end hooks, and ABC Suspension & Dead end clamps. The details are specified in the tender document.
4.Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits dated May 2004,
revised October 2006, and is open to all bidders from eligible source '1 countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. The bidder' shall meet the following experience and fmancial capability;
• An average annual turnover for the past five year's equivalent to 2 times their bid price offered for the lot. To qualify for the award of multiply lots, bidders should have an average annual turnover for the past five years, equivalent to twice times of the aggregated bid price of all lots .
Procurement of Distribution Overahead line accessories and pole top hard wares.The bidder has successfully completed at least 3 contracts of similar value for the supply of electrical goods in the past five years.
The bidder's manufacturer has been manufacturing Distribution overhead line accessories and pole top hard wares with an average annual output of at least twice the amount of the bid or twice the aggregate of all bids if applicable for multiply award for the last five. years.

6. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation Ethiopian, EAREPI Project
Office, Dembel City Center, 11th floor, Tel. +251 115 54 50 79, Fax +251 115 52 7027 and inspect the bidding documents starting from 9 September 2010 at 08:00 am to 05:00 pm.
7.A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of anon-refundable fee ETB 400 or in USD 30 for the Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation, UEAP Finance Dembel City Center, 11 th Floor starting from 9 September 2010. The method of payment shall be in cash or cashier's cheque.
8.The bidding document may also be sent by airmail or carrier service for overseas bidders upon payment of a non-refundable fee TB 550 or in USD 40 for the Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation,
Universal Electricity Access Program (UEAP).
9.Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 26 October 2010 at 2:00 pm. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders/ representatives who choose to attend in person. Bids will be opened at UEAP Meeting Hall, Dembel City Center, II th floor, on 26 October 2010 at 2:30 pm. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security in Ethiopian Birr (ETB) in the following amounts or equivalent in any
freely convertible currency on the exchange rate of Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, 28 days prior to bid closing date:
