REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL- (RFP -ETH- 2014 – 9114720

1. Background
In 2012, UNICEF launched the Peacebuilding, Education, and Advocacy Programme (PBEA), which currently operates in 14 countries globally including Ethiopia. The overarching goal of this programme is to strengthen resilience, social cohesion, and human security in conflict-affected and fragile state contexts. The programme has a unique opportunity to provide an evidence-base to demonstrate how education (as a social service) can contribute to peacebuilding and enhancing resilience, social cohesion, and human security.

2. Specific Objectives
The purpose of the institutional contract is to generate comprehensive KAP baseline information regarding social cohesion and resilience among direct and indirect beneficiaries in the 4 DRSs and 22 Woredas where the PBEA is being implemented.
The overall objective of the baseline survey is, thus, to generate baseline data on current status of knowledge, attitude and practice of students, teachers and parents in the target Woredas as benchmarks for the monitoring and evaluation of the programme at later stage. This will also help to ensure UNICEF and government accountability for demonstrating results. In general the baseline data will serve as the basis for measuring PBEA’s contribution over time.
