Huawei Technologies, which has been increasing its presence on the Ethiopian ICT and telecommunication market for the last few years, is set to 
share the telecom market in Ethiopia with ZTE according to Austin Pan Chief Executive Officer of Huawei.
Ethiopia will be on the forefront of telecom services in Africa should it employ Huawei Technologies said Pan.
It is to be remembered that Huawei is one of the three telecom providers who proffered a bid for the telecom infrastructure development project, a multi-million dollar project, to the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology.
Huawei proposed to implement the national telecom infrastructure development targets as per Growth and Transformation plans. The financial offer submitted by Huwaei to implement the project was not disclosed.Senior Executives with Huawei had discussions with Prime Minister Meles Zenawi on the opportunities available in Ethiopia for the company to engage said Pan.
It is expected that Huawei will capture a significant share of the large telecom infrastructure projects on the table according to sources.
In related news Huawei revealed mobile broadband technology in Addis Ababa last week. The exhibition was attended by a number of Senior Ethiopian government officials.
