Ethiopia and Germany signed in Addis Ababa yesterday a grant agreement of a total of €100 million. Signing the agreement were Admasu Nebebe, Ethiopia’s State Minister of Finance, and Brita Wagner, Germany’s Ambassador to Ethiopia.
The grant aims to support Ethiopia’s reform agenda, as the country works to enhance private sector engagement while improving conditions for investment and access to financial services, both for local and international companies.
The €100 million will also help finance the second phase of Ethiopia’s growth and competitiveness program, it has been learned.
Adhering to the social distancing protocol of the coronavirus pandemic, the signing was conducted in a vertical ceremony.
