1: UNICEF Ethiopia Office is seeking Request for Proposals (RFP) from Firm/Company/Organisation to– Evaluate Peace building Education Advocacy (PBEA) KAP End-line.

2: Background: In 2012, UNICEF launched the Peace building, Education and Advocacy Programme (PBEA), which currently operates in 14 countries globally including Ethiopia. The overarching goal of this programme is to strengthen resilience, social cohesion and human security in conflict-affected and fragile state contexts. The programme has a unique opportunity to provide an evidence-base to demonstrate how education (as a social service) can contribute to peacebuilding and enhancing resilience, social cohesion, and human security.Moreover, it will allow demonstration of the ongoing relevance of UNICEF education programming in fragile and conflict-affected contexts. 

3: Purpose and Objective of the Consultancy

The purpose of the institutional contract is to generate KAP end-line results regarding social cohesion and resilience among direct (students and teachers) and indirect beneficiaries (parents and out of school adolescents/youth) in the 4 DRSs and 22 Woredas where PBEA is being implemented.

4: Expected Background and Experience Required:

The Firm/Institution

a) Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in conducting similar assignments / surveys for national/international agencies, preferably as related to social cohesion and resilience

b) Experience preferable in the fields of peacebuilding, conflict prevention, resilience, international development, humanitarian action, and with a focus on the DRSs.

c) Propose team members who demonstrate strong technical experience, including a team leader with a mix of expertise. CV’s of team members will need to be made available to UNICEF.

d) Strong experience with preparing and managing KAP surveys, preferably in an Ethiopian context.
