1.   Commercial Bank of Ethiopia invites interested eligible and qualified bidders to provide information to prepare a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the procurement of the following items in order to get a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) complete with server, storage and other hardware to be deployed at the data center and other related sites.

Purpose

This Request for Information (RFI) will provide CBE with information that will be used in determining a path forward in its goal of implementing VDI within the Bank. The principle objective of this RFI is for CBE to receive information from industry that would assist to:

  1. Provide recommended approaches to VDI

  2. Define the requirements for the implementation of a VDI solution at Training Center, contact center and some offices and branches.

Scope

Accordingly, the prime targets for the initial VDI deployment would be:

    1. 200 Thin Clients can be deployed mainly at the Training Center

    2. 100 Thin Clients can be deployed mainly at contact center and some branches and offices where they only require access to T24 or other applications through browser.

2. Bidders shall be quite sure to state direct line phone number, cell phone number, fax    number and e-mail address of their organization correctly while collecting bid documents. Failure in receipt of bid communication due to incorrectness of the above will not be the responsibility of the bank.

3. A complete set of RFI documents may be obtained from Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, Procurement Sub-Process, opposite to Vatican Embassy, next to Gibson Youth Academy, Facilities Management Building, 1st Floor, Room No. 101 against payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 100.00 (one hundred birr) only during office hours (Monday to Friday 8:00-12:00a.m., 1:00–4:15p.m.; and Saturday 8:00-11:45a.m.). Presentation copy of renewed Trade License, Tax Clearance Certificate and VAT Registration Certificate is a must.

4. RFI responses must be deposited in the tender box prepared for this purpose at Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, Procurement Sub-Process, during office hours before November 11, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at the place mentioned under no. 2 above.

5. RFI response envelops opening shall be held in the presence of bidders and/or their legal agents who wish to attend, on November 11, 2014; 10:30 a.m. at the place mentioned under no. 2 above.

7. Failure to comply any of the conditions from 2 - 3 above shall result in automatic rejection.

8. The CBE reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.
