     EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Ethiopia wishes to establish Long Term Arrangement (LTA) from registered transport companies in Somali Region for transportation of goods and supplies for a period of one plus one year.

ELIGIBILITY & CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION

    • The company should be registered in Ethiopia Somali Region as a tax payer and should have a valid license to do supplies transportation business in Somali region.

    • The Company must be involved in the freight transport business with an active license from Ministry of transport.

    • The Company should have at least 5 years of transporting goods in Somali Region and should have own trucks of various capacities.

    • The company not have had their business activities suspended from the government.

    • Have appropriate documentary evidence demonstrating its compliance, which shall include

  • Its trading license or equivalent;

  • Its tax clearance certificate and VAT registration

  • Truck ownership book and

  • Any relevant professional practice certificates

  • Relevant insurance

     

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

 

Interested parties needs to fill in the Supplier Profile Form and Transport Questionnaire and submit it to either UNICEF Jijiga Office or to UNICEF Ethiopia Country Office at Addis Ababa.

DUE DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF EOI

 

Supplier profile form and transport questionnaire must be completed and submitted in hard copy along with all the supporting documents like registration, license, proof of ownership of vehicles, experience certificates or any other information relevant for this EoI in hard copy latest by 16th September 2016 to either of the locations specified below.

The UNECA security rules requires 36 hours ‘advance notice’ to be given by visitor, therefore please notify the Supply Section by email: ETH-Reception-Desk@unicef.orgproviding the name of the person who will be submitting the bid and the proposed date of arrival.

Please note that failure to submit the specified documents will mean that you will not be considered for invitation to bid.

From these expressions of interest, a limited number of companies will be short-listed and receive Invitation to Bid (ITB) containing the Terms of Reference (ToR) in October/November 2016 and will be invited to submit financial quotations.  As a part of evaluation, UNICEF may undertake a visit the transport companies.   

This Call for EOI does not constitute a solicitation; a response to this Call does not ensure you will be selected for invitation to bid. We do NOT require bids or proposals or prices at this stage; we merely seek the company’s expression of interest in participating in the bid.

UNICEF fully reserves the right to accept or reject registration.  UNICEF also reserves the right to require compliance with additional conditions as and when shortlisting the qualified institutions.
