3. General Rules

1.     The Installation shall satisfy all National Ethiopian Laws, Standards and international standards as applicable to the area where the installation is to take place.

2.     The cable wireways (cable trays, sleeves, draw-boxes and conduits) shall be provided by the contractor where required.

3.      All documentation regarding product certification and product brochures for ALL components of the systems are to be submitted and approved by the appointed engineering firm/UNICEF.

4.     All system testing documentation and as-built drawings shall be submitted by the contractor as part of the handover/Commissioning process as well as the manufacturer warranty issued for the site, upon completion.

5.     The specification of the materials and equipment to be supplied should meet the minimum standard set out in this document and should meet the minimum quality requirement of the industry.

6.     All materials and equipment used shall be new and of the very best of their types and kind.

7.     All items of equipment shall be completely compatible with one another and existing ones.

8.     The equipment shall preferably be manufactured under a system that has been to the best standard and practice in the industry. Test and compliance report shall be provided/ submitted where applicable.

9.     All items of equipment shall be fitted with nameplates containing information such as serial numbers, model numbers, type numbers, manufacturer’s name, etc. This information together with the description of each piece of equipment shall be listed in the maintenance manual.

10.  All components and PC boards shall also be marked with type numbers and descriptions and this information shall be contained in the maintenance manual.

11.  No equipment without detailed specifications and/or testing results will be allowed.

12.  The bidder shall note that it is the sole responsibility of the Contractor to undertake full commissioning of the system prior to acceptance of the installation by client.

13.  The contractor shall provide at least two years warranty certification and third party certificate from well recognized manufacturer
