Over forty Ethiopian coffee exporting companies, producers and cooperatives took part in the 2019 edition of the Specialty Coffee Expo, held in Boston, USA. The expo, held from April 11 to 14, 2019, is the leading trade fair and networking platform in the coffee industry.

Over 3,900 exhibitors and 9,000 attendees from all over the globe participated in the exhibition which is organized by the Specialty Coffee Association. The US remains to be one of the largest markets for Ethiopia’s coffee.

In a related note, the Alliance for Coffee Excellence (ACE) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Ethiopia intending to hold “the most coveted” coffee competition Cup of Excellence in Ethiopia in 2020. Signing the MoU on part of Ethiopia was Misganu Arega, State Minister of Trade, who was present in Boston at the Specialty Coffee Expo leading the Ethiopian delegation.
