Ethiopia-UAE Business Forum Opens in Addis

ethio-uae-forumThe Ethiopia-UAE Business Forum opened in Addis Ababa today (March 20, 2019). Attending the forum are sixty plus business and government delegates. The participants of the forum are potential investors who hope to get involved in several investment sectors in Ethiopia.

Aklilu Hailemichael (PhD), State Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Dr. Akililu Hailemichael said the long standing relations of the two countries will serve as a bedrock to build effective trade and business links, his ministry reported.

Dr. Aklilu expressed his hope that the participants of the forum will exchange ideas and views whil eventually will be translated into a viable economic cooperation between Ethiopia and the UAE.

“Ethiopia, with its lucrative environment for investment, is opening its door for sustainable economic cooperation,” the state minister noted.

Abdullah Al Saleh, Undersecretary of Foreign Trade at the UAE Ministry of Economy, on his part, remarked that the forum brings forth “invaluable platforms to explore investment opportunities in Ethiopia.” He added that the forum will give much needed insights to UAE companies into how to enhance trade, business and investment ties between the two countries. 

Misganu Arega (Ambassador), State Minister of Trade and Industry, who is also a former Ethiopian Ambassador to the UAE, noted at the occasion, “This joint business forum is instrumental to strengthen the all-rounded bilateral ties between UAE and Ethiopia.”

Ethiopia, strategically situated to serve as a gateway to regional markets, will be an indispensable trade and investment potential for UAE companies to establish and sustain their businesses in this region of Africa, Ambassador Misganu further remarked.
