Addis is set to hold the 8th Annual International Conference on Pulses, Oilseeds, and Spices from November 23-24, 2018 with a theme “Cultivating Strategic Partnership.” The conference, which is organized by the Ethiopian Pulses, Oilseeds and Spices Processors-Exporters Association (EPOSPEA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, will be attended by 450 participants of whom 110 are from China, UAE, and India.

EPOSPEA said the conference is important to develop and strengthen existing ties. According to the association, the conference is mainly aimed at strengthening and expanding the existing as well as new market linkages and outlets to diverse products.

The pulses, oilseeds and spices sector has a huge role in Ethiopia’s development nearly next to coffee. The country earns USD 600 million per year from this sector.

Ethiopian Pulses, Oilseeds and Spices Processors-Expoters Association was established in 19988 with the objective of building the capacity its members to make them competitive in global market. Currently EPOSPEA has more than 130 active members.
