Over 18,000 km roads are to be constructed, improved, and renovated by Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) in 2018/19 fiscal year.

According to the authority’s Communication Director Ato Samson Wondimu, out of the total road projects, 15,000 km roads will be repaired and improved and 3000 km roads will be constructed. These road projects are aimed at improving accessibility of modern transportation to communities in the rural areas.

The projects, which are expected to take 3 - 4 years for completion, will cost ETB 41 billion.
