Ethiopian Airlines (Ethiopian), the largest Aviation Group in Africa and SKYTRAX certified Four Star Global Airline, started services to Chicago on June 10, 2018. The airline announced the inaugural flight at a ceremony held on Sunday.

According to Mr. Tewolde GebreMariam, the airline’s Group CEO, the flight will strengthen the growing economic and people-to-people relations between the U.S. and Africa in general and Ethiopia in particular by enabling greater flow of trade, investment and tourism.

The US Ambassador to Ethiopia, Mr. Michael Raynor, said the support of the United States and American Embassy in Addis Ababa for the growth of the airline would continue.

Chicago is the airline’s fourth destination in the U.S. and the seventh in the Americas.
