Ethiopia’s Ministry of Education inaugurated new university in Amhara State. The newly inaugurated university is Debark University.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the State President, Gedu Andargachew, Minister of Education, Tilaye Gete, and other government officials from both the federal government and state officials.

Speaking at the event, Tilaye said: “The construction of new universities is an indication of government’s commitment for equitable access to education”.
Amhara State president on his part said he would continue to provide support for the expansion of higher educational institutions in the state.

According to Fana Broadcasting Corporation, the university currently enrolls more than 1,500 students for undergraduate studies.
