Afar State Got an International Airport

International airport built in Semera City, Afar State, was inaugurated. The airport was constructed at an outlay of 450 million Birr and it was dubbed after Sultan Alimirah Anfre.

The inauguration ceremony which was held on December 7, 2017, was attended by Minister of Transport, Ahmed Shide, Chief Administrator of Afar Regional State, Haji Seyoum Awel and Deputy Speaker of the House of Federation (HoF).

Commenting on the development the Minister for Transport said the airport would have a substantial contribution to attract investment. It would also help link the region with Djibouti as well as facilitate import-export trade, he added.
