1 Billion USD FDI Poured to Ethiopia

FDIEthiopian Investment Commission (EIC) has disclosed Ethiopia has managed to attract 1 billion USD in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) during the first 3 months of the current fiscal year. This was disclosed during the tenth consultative meeting of heads of investment bureaus of states that was held in Tigray State’s capital, Mekele.

Speaking at the event, Nigusu Gurmu, EIC’s policy study and strategy director, said 49 new investors came to Ethiopia during with a combined capital of half a billion USD.

The industrial parks built all over the country had contributed for the performance, Nigusu said.

Teka Gebreyesus, Deputy Commission of the Ethiopian Investment Commission, on his part called for integrated efforts to attract more FDI.
