Kegna Share Company is going to build a beer factory in Ginchi City, Oromia State, at an outlay of 7 billion Birr. In the aim of this, a cornerstone was laid on May 22, 2017 at the factory site.

Speaking during the laying of the cornerstone, Abadula Gemenda, the company’s Board Chairperson and Speaker of House of Peoples’ Representatives, said the factory would create employment opportunities, boost the economic, social and political activities of the locality.

According to Abadula, ownership of the company is not going to lay only on investors but segments of the society that is encouraged to purchase shares of the company. More than 100,000 youth and farmers living around the factory site bought shares, Abadula explained.

Lemma Megersa, President of Oromia State, on his part explained the state would extend its support until the completion of the construction of the factory.

When the factory goes operational it would contribute for bolstering the economy of the locality and the state, Lemma added.
