Ethiopia’s flag carrier, Ethiopian Airlines, started flying straight between Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, and Addis Ababa.

The flight is going to depart from Chengdu every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The travel time, on the other hand, is going to be 9 and a half hours.

This route is the second direct air route from Chengdu to Africa. It is also the 100th international and regional air route to operate at Chengdu airport.

In addition to the new flight route, Ethiopian has direct air routes Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
