In the past 9 months of the current fiscal year, Ethiopia earned 72 million USD from the export of meat. This was disclosed by the Ethiopian Meat and Dairy Industry Development Institute (MDIDI).

According to the Deputy Director General of MDIDI, UAE and Saudi Arabia are the major destination for Ethiopia’s meat taking 98 percent of the total export. Everyday Ethiopia exported up to 50 tons of meat, he added.

The plan for the current fiscal year is to generate 150 million USD from the export of meat.
