Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) disclosed it managed to construct 1198.9 kilometers of road across Ethiopia in the past 9 months of the current fiscal year.

Out of the entire roads built by the Authority, 609.6 kilometers were constructed by Ethiopian road construction firms while the rest were built by foreign construction companies.

The constructions being undertaken are under 130 different projects that will cover a tally of 8784 kilometers when they are finished. Out of these 130 projects, the foreign firms will be working on 52 of the projects which stretch for 3742 kilometers. Out of these 651 kilometers were scheduled to be completed in 9 months’ time.

On the other hand Ethiopian construction firms are working on 78 projects that cover 4179 kilometers. Out of these 649 kilometers were planned to be completed in 9 months’ time. After 9 months since the commencement of the projects, the companies managed to finish 609 kilometers.
