Ethiopia: Turkish Company to Invest in Solar Energy

Reyrich Plastic Company, Turkey based firm, disclosed it has decided to build a solar energy project in Ethiopia at the cost of 1.5 billion Birr.

According to the board chairman of the company, Nehad Alayyoub, upon completion the project will generate 600 megawatts power.

The chairman made the announcement after he, along with other members of Turkish delegation team, met with President Mulatu Teshome.

The project was promising and would be a great project for the country, Alayyoub added. The project would create job opportunities for Ethiopians as well as benefit them, he noted.

Mulatu during his discussion with the delegation team, urged the investors to engage in geothermal, solar energy and fertilizer.
