Ethiopia Signed 75 Million Euro Loan Agreement

Ethiopia secured a 75 million Euro loan from France after concluding a loan agreement. The loan is said to be utilized for building the National Load Dispatch center with its back up replica and Bus Rapid Transit.

The agreement was signed by Abdulaziz Mohammed, Minister for Finance and Economic Cooperation, representing Ethiopia, and Anne Chaplain, Acting Regional Manager of France Development Agency.

40 million Euro of the loan is going to be used for the Load Dispatch Center which will be equipped with the latest technologies to enable Ethiopia automatically handle all power plants that will be implemented under the second Growth and Transformation Period (GTP II).

The remaining 35 million Euro is set aside for the Bus Rapid Transit. The transit is part of the public transportation network which is said to have together Light Railway Transit and regular bus lines undertaken by Addis Ababa administration.
