Ethio-South Korea Business to Business Forum Held in Ethiopia

Ethio-South Korea Business Forum was held in the capital of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa, on Friday, May 27, 2016 with the presence of Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn and President Park Geun-hye of South Korea. Other participants of the forum were diplomatic as well as business representatives of the 2 countries.

During the Forum 4 Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) on business cooperation, investment promotion and capacity building, trade and textile industry were signed.

Solomon Afework, President of the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectorial Association, signed the business cooperation MoU for Ethiopia while Mr. Lee Jung Su vice, Chairman of the South Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, represented South Korea.

The other 3 MoUs were signed by Ethiopian Investment Commission Commissioner, Fitsum Arega and his South Korean counterpart.

Speaking at the occasion Haliemariam said the business forum would enhance the already strong cooperation between the 2 countries. The agreements would further strengthen the business to business as well as people to people ties.

Park on her part vowed to further strengthen the bilateral relations in different aspects and noted the MoUs would cement the trade and investment relationship.

The President also explained industrial parks in Ethiopia had already managed to attract South Korean investors.
