Ethiopia: ECWS Took a Project in Rwanda

Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECWS) took its first project outside of Ethiopia. The project is for construction of irrigation infrastructure development project in Rwanda and it is for the remuneration of 3.6 billion Rwandan Franks.

Speaking on a farewell ceremony for the project Chief Executive Officer of ECWS, Hailemeskel Tefera, said in the coming five years the government aimed at shoring up capacity of handling huge construction works.

According to him the merger between the former Ethiopian Road Construction Corporation and the Ethiopian Water Works Enterprise is part of this plan.

Agonafir Zewde, Head of the Rwanda Project, speaking on his part said the overseas project was an important experience in order to carry out similar projects over Africa. He also vowed to make an all-out effort for the success of the projecting he was assigned to.
