World Energy Council to hold Energy Leaders’ Summit in Addis Ababa

World Energy Council announced that it will hold Energy Leaders’ Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Thursday October 29, 2015.

Marie-José Nadeau, Chair World Energy Council, and Christoph Frei, Secretary General World Energy Council, will present the Council’s concerns and hopes for Paris COP21 negotiations.

At the Summit, Mulatu Teshome, President of Ethiopia, will present key global and regional energy challenges, according to the statement released by the Council.

The agenda at the Summit will include leveraging partnership to increase energy equity in Africa, adapting to extreme weather events and the energy-water-food nexus and identifying priority projects and success factors.

Eli Jidere Bala, Director General & CEO, Energy Commission of Nigeria, Government of Nigeria, Jeannot Matadi Nenga Gamanda, Minister of Energy and Hydraulic Resources, Government of DR Congo and Elham Mahmoud Ahmed Ibrahim, Commissioner, Energy and Infrastructure, African Union, Ethiopia will lead the roundtable sessions.
