Gilgel Gibe III, one of Ethiopia’s grand hydroelectric power generation projects, had started power generation on October 10, 2015, according to Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC).

Former Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy Alemayehu Tegenu had tweeted: “Dear all, good news Gibe III had started power generation this evening.”

Gibe III is expected to boost hydroelectric power generation capacity of Ethiopia close to hundred percent.
