Africa-Australia Mining Development Joint Conference launched yesterday, September 02, 2015, in Perth, Australia, Ethiopian News Agency reported.

West Australian Premier Colin Barnett at the opening ceremony said Australia seeks to be partners with Africa.

Sindiso Ndema Ngwenya Secretary-General of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) said to keep up its current economic growth, Africa seeks to share the experiences of Australia in the mining sector.

Over 1,000 mining companies from Africa and Australia, diplomats and stakeholders are participating in the conference.

The conference will stay open for three days.
