Ethiopia is constructing modern engine factory that can produce different types of engines, Tigrai Online reported.

The new factory is expected to produce from 20 to 30 thousands of engines for cars, trucks, tractors, building industry machineries and other small engines a year.

The engine factory is under construction in Mekelle, Regional State of Tigray. The manufacturing plant rests on 30 hectares of land and 90 percent of the construction is completed.

Power Engineering Industry official Amanuel Abraha said the factory will be ready to commence production by November 2015.

The engine factory will create job opportunities for 1500 people.

Power Engineering Industry was founded five years ago with 200,000 Birr investment and 46 workers. Currently, it has five billion Birr capital with 10,000 employees.
