Ethiopia: UNCTAD Certifies National Entrepreneurship Trainers in Ethiopia

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) said it will certify entrepreneurship trainers in Ethiopia to become national master trainers.

The entrepreneurship trainers are selected from private sectors and academia. Among the regions trainers drawn from are Addis Ababa, Oromia, Amhara, Tigray and Southern Nations Nationalities and Peoples’ State (SNNPRS).

The certification event is for trainers who are working with the Entrepreneurship Development Center (EDC), a center that implements the Entrepreneurship Development Program that was launched by Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn in 2013.

DC operates under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Urban Development, Housing as well as Construction and the Federal Micro and Small Enterprises Development Agency (FeMSEDA), the UNCTAD stated.

After the national master trainers are certified, they will have a roll in the entrepreneurship development program throughout regions, furthered UNCTAD.

Accordingly the event is being held today, August 21, 2015, in the presence of FeMSEDA Deputy Director General Bekele Mengistu and UNDP Country Director Samuel Bwalya.
