2400 prospective home owners will enter a raffle to win one of 1292 homes in the 40/60 Housing Program, Addis Ababa City Administration Saving Housing Development Enterprise disclosed.

Yohannes Abayneh, Public Relations Head at the Enterprise said presently, there are 33,821 40/60 houses under construction in Addis Ababa. 1292 homes as well as shops constructions are expected to be finalized this month.

Only 2400 individuals who have made 100% down payment for the housing program at the initial registration period for the program in August 2013 take part in the raffle, Yohannes explained.

The 40/60 Housing Program to this date has created both job opportunities for 39000 citizens and markets for 5000 citizens organized under micro and small enterprises.

Data up to this year’s May indicates 9584 people have made 100% down payment in the program. 23,949 registered individuals have paid 40% and more of the payment in the program.

156,949 registered individuals are saving, whereas 9744 individuals have withdrawn from the program.
