Farmers in three zones of the Amhara Regional State are partnering with Tiret Agriculture and Agro Processing Corporate to construct an agro processing plant with one billion Birr capital, according to Fana Broadcasting Corporate.

The factory is to be constructed in Amhara region and farmers from Eastern, Western and Awi Zones will invest 953 million Birr.

President of Tiret, Habtamu Megistu, stated feasibility studies has been conducted. The construction of the company begins within a year.

The plant will utilize 750,000 quintals of wheat and 144,000 quintals of maize to produce macaroni and corn flakes.

As farmers provide and also invest in the factory, they will get dual benefits, Shumiye Alemu, Amhara’s region Agriculture Bureau Deputy Head said. The factory will enable farmers to sell their product with an added value.
