Ethiopia: Berhan Bank’s President Resigned

berhanbankBerhan International Bank’s President, Belachew Bogale, resigned from his position making him the fourth President from the banking industry to leave his place in one month time.

To fill the vacant spot temporarily, Vice President of Berhan International Bank (BIB), Abreham Alem, took the Presidency job on Monday, September 22, 2014.

On his resignation letter submitted to the Board of Directors, Belachew noted; “I served the Bank for a long period of time and I need some rest to look into myself”.

The Board Chairman, Solomon Alemseged, on his part noted, “We accepted his resignation request and assigned Abraham as acting president”.

Belachew was the founding president of the Bank and has worked there for four years. He has a degree in management from the Addis Ababa University (AAU) and went for his graduate studies to UK and studied at banking and finance.

On the other hand Abraham earned his degree from the AAU in Management and went to England for his graduate studies where he studied Development Studies at the South Bank University.
