Arab League’s Ambassador to Ethiopia and African Union (AU), Saleh Sahabun, noted the organization is encouraging Arab nations to strengthen their ties with Ethiopia.

According to Sahabun, as part of the endeavor, there were preparations to celebrate an “Arab Week” for the purpose of further strengthening social and cultural relations.

The Ambassador noted, as Addis Ababa is the seat for AU and United Nations Economic Commission for Africa many Arab nations are striving to promote economic, social and political cooperation with Ethiopia. 16 Arab nations currently have embassies in Ethiopia which, according to Sahabun, is evidence to the nations’ desire to consolidate bilateral ties with Ethiopia.

Sahabun also commented Ethiopia’s ample investment opportunities aligned with the nation’s stability is what is luring Arab countries the desire to strengthen bonds.
