Ethiopian Postal Services Enterprise and DHL Ethiopia signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly use delivery networks, Fortune reported.

The MoU was singed at Capital Hotel & Spa on October 9, 2013. Essete Gabriel, country manger of DHL Ethiopia and Gidey Gebretohannes of Ethiopian Postal Services signed the agreement.

Ethiopian Postal is looking to use DHL's international delivery networks, while DHL will use Ethiopian Postal's vast local networks.

"we add value to each other" Gidey said during the signing ceremony, as the "vast international links of DHL and the "unmatched local presence of Ethiopian Postal" are complementary.

Since the MoU is state in general terms, the two parties are negotiating to draw up a detailed contract called" Service Level Agreement (SLA)".
