Hab General Trading PLC. is a business enterprise engaged in the import, stocking and distribution of various products such as automotive parts for various vehicles (BMW, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dacia...) related to steering, engine, chassis, vehicle electrics, brake, and wheel fastening technologies in Ethiopia. The special relationship with Febi and MSI international from Germany encourages the company to focus in the field of automotive parts business at large.

The company was established in 1991 incorporated as per the law of the land (Ethiopia).

ORGANIZATION/MANAGEMENT

The total numbers of company employees is 10 with a General Manager assisted by Marketing/Sales manager, Sales representative, accountant, and expediter plus advising engineers with qualifications ranging from diploma to MSC degree.

Main Activities

1. IMPORT

The  company imports products form Europe, mainly from Germany and Italy on CAD basis. L/C was rarely utilized in our twelve years business operations, with companies either new to our relationship or their financial system do not allow them to accept other terms of payment except L/C.

2. STOCK

The company is trying to keep an optimal stock level as to help satisfy the market on one side and minimize the capital tie up on the other end which is a common problem for organizations engaged in this sector.

3. MARKETING

The marketing mechanism applied by the company is whole sales, which gives the chance for the company to focus on a limited number of customers but with high sales turnover.  Since the application of this strategy three years ago, the sales volume showed a dramatic increase which in effect leads to higher profit for the company.

4. TENDER BUSINESS

The company is taking part in major tenders floated by big buyers such as Ethiopian Air ports enterprise, Tendaho Sugar Factory, Gulele soap factory, etc. for the supply of Fire fighting truck and equipments, lubricants and raw materials respectively. This has given the leverage and cumulative experience to prepare tender documents complaint to bid specifications and requirements.

We do support the customers, on behalf of the suppliers, who directly buy from our principals and also manage the claims coming from our customers, in case of damage or defective parts supply from our principals.
