Oromia Pipe Factory PLC is an Ethiopian PVC pipe manufacturer established as a joint venture between Oromia Water Works Construction Enterprise (Government owned enterprise) and Golden Trade Company (American/Egyptian Company). The factory was inaugurated and started production on November 12, 2007 with three production lines. But since then the company undergone through steady growth and currently the company has six UPVC and one corrugated PVC pipe production line. In addition, the company is on its way to install two additional HDPE production lines to meet the growing customer demand; this will upgrade the plant capacity even further.

Since its establishment, OPF is able to manufacture and supply different size and pressure range quality UPVC pipes for various drinking water supply and irrigation projects throughout the Oromia region and other regions as well. We have strong commitment to supply quality products to our valued customers, and we will keep on striving to introduce new technologies and products to exceed customer expectations.

Product Range

OPF UPVC pipes are manufactured as per international standards like ISO 4422 and DIN 8061. Our company has manufacturing capacity to produce UPVC pipes with outside diameter (OD( from 16mm-630mm and pressure range (PR) of 4bar-20bar. Depending on pressure rating of pipes, our products are categorized to pressure and non pressure applications but the most important applications are

• UPVC pipes for pressure system application
• UPVC pipes for irrigation system
• UPVC pipes for drainage and sewerage system
• Corrugated UPVC pipes for subsurface drainage application

Apart from the above stated applications, UPVC pipes can also be used as conduit for electrical and telecommunication lines.

UPVC pipes According to ISO 4422

OPF manufactures UPVC pipes according to ISO 4422. These pipes are manufactured according to standard dimensional tolerances and perfect workmanship.

During the manufacturing process the pipes undergo through rigorous quality control checks on a predetermined frequency to ensure compliance with a number of product requirements stated under the manufacturing standard ISO 4422.

To provide our customers with a wide range of product alternatives, OPF also manufactures UPVC pipes according to DIN standard which can be used for pressure system application.

UPVC pipes for Irrigation and Sewerage Systems

UPVC pipes According to DIN 8061 (ES 1222) OPF also manufactures UPVC pipes according to DIN 8061 for irrigation and sewerage systems. These products have already obtained wide acceptance among water works construction companies and they are being extensively used in most irrigation projects throughout the country.

Features

• The length of pipes to be supplied are 6 meters including socket or as per customer request.
• Each pipe will be supplied with rubber seal for joining
• The color of the pipes is dark grey or as per customer request.

Corrugated PVC Pipe for subsurface Drainage Systems

OPF has recently introduced corrugated PVC pipes to its range of products to satisfy customer demand. This product has wide application in reclaiming waterlogged and saline areas. the obvious advantages of corrugated PVC pipes are their:

Our company manufactures four different sizes of corrugated PVC pipes and each size can be manufactured with or without perforations depending on customer requirements.

Pipe Quality

OPF has put in place a systematic and rigorous quality control system to ensure compliance with a number of products specific requirements and customer specifications. To achieve this aim products are monitored on-line and off-line, the quality control checks include:

• Dimensions
• Resistance to hydrostatic pressure
• Opacity check
• Workmanship
• Vicat softening point
• Tensile, compressive and Flexural strength
• Thermal reversion
• Impact test
• Resistance to Methylene Chloride
• Izod-Charpy impact

Quality control checks provide a guide to the production process to ensure continued compliance to the product requirements. All quality control data are recorded in such a way that they are retrievable to demonstrate compliance to specific requirements.

Our quality control control laboratory is equipped with the necessary advanced equipments to conduct full range of tests according to ISO 4422. Beside the product specific standard, the company has developed and implemented a company wide quality management system based on ISO 9001:2008 to mange and control all operations of the company to manufacture quality product and ensure customer satisfaction.

Furthermore, OPF would not like to limit itself to UPVC pipe manufacturing. it would also like to have other PVC products in its products portfolio. Following this strategy, corrugated PVC pipes for subsurface drainage have been added to its range of products since beginning of 2010 and also underway for HDPE pipes for the growing customer demand.
