Nyota Reports 82% Upgrade on Ethiopian Gold Resource

Nyota minerals announced an 82% upgrade and increase for its Tulu Kapi gold concession in Ethiopia following additional drilling.

The resource has been upgraded to 831 000 ounces of gold at 3.01 g/t and an inferred resource of 841 000 oz at 2.79 g/t.

The mineral resource totally in Tulu Kapi now stands at 17.97 million tons of 2.9 g/t grade gold ore translating to 1.67-million ounces gold.

Nyota reported that it was transforming in a mine developer and operator having appointed relevant personnel to meet this target.

Notable progress is being made in finalizing a definitive feasibility study for the Tulu Kapi project following the appointment of key consultants and a lead Engineer as well as the work already accomplished said the company in a statement.

It is tentatively expected that the DFS will be concluded in the third quarter of this year. The company design for the processing plant will be based on a two million ton a year standard frequently employed in Africa and well suited to the anticipated environment in Ethiopia.

Nyota made progress in revising the overall mine layout to reduce the surface foot print as well as commencing condemnation drilling to pinpoint areas that have no gold reserves for the construction of infrastructure. The company has also completed its environmental and social impact assessment.

Tulu Kapi was visited by representatives from the Ethiopian Ministry of Mines in January to establish the infrastructure and ESIA study. The team evaluated the main elements of the design and the progress of the resettlement action plan
