Representatives of Turkish businesses lead by Mulatu Teshome, Ethiopian Ambassador to Turkey, are expected to visit Ethiopia soon according to sources.
The delegation will include representatives from agriculture and construction firms interested in investment in Ethiopia.
A similar delegation made up of an estimated 200 Turkish business representatives visited Ethiopia last year to attend the Ethio-Turkish Business Forum.At the time the delegation was met by members of the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Association as well as the Addis Ababa chamber.
The last visit was jointly organized by the Under Secretariat of the Ministry of Foreign Trade for Turkey, Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists of Turkey, Turkish Exporter’s Assembly, and the Ethiopian and Addis Ababa chambers.
The delegation was accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Trade and the chairman of the Federation of Businesspeople and Industrialists of Turkey.
After the meeting the Turkish Export-Import Bank made 100 million US dollars for Turkish businesses interested in investing in Ethiopia as well as tentative understanding of a free trade agreement between the two countries.
