Charisma Ecology, a consortium of 7 investors expects to build thirteen resorts in remote wilderness areas in Ethiopia.
The resorts will be built according to classical forms of Ethiopian architecture by tribal professionals to preserve ancient methods of house construction said Daniel Damtew, member of the Charisma board.
The group aims to build four resorts within the next two years after which it will tackle further expansion according to the proposed plan.
Charisma will select previously inaccessible but strategic locations to build its resorts.The first resorts will be constructed in established tourist destinations but the long term aim is to identify new areas with the potential to become tourist attractions explained Daniel.
Accordingly Chairsma has identified Tana Lake, the Semien Mountains, the Omo River, Abaya Lake and Entoto Monutains as primary locations for the resorts.
Other destinations are expected to be Abayata/Shalla Lake well know as the home of African aquatic birds and hot springs, Gerealta on the high way between Mekelle and Axum and in close proximity to various historical places as well as locations in Afar and Bale.
The resorts will offer various recreational activities including fishing, boat rides, historical tours, and other modern amenities like conference centers and golf clubs.
Charisma Ecology was founded by a 90 million birr investment raised from seven Ethiopian investors, Awad Mohammed (Adika Tour and Travel), Alem Mengistu (Hotelier), Arkebom Kebede (Travel Agent), Daniel Damtew (Glory Ethiopia Travel and Tour), Haileabe Meresa (Peace Journey in Africa), Munir Ahmer (Habesha Restaurant) and Engineer Tadesse Tessema (Holland Car).
